Kelley Wolf Transfers to New Mental Health Facility on Her 49th Birthday (Exclusive)

NEED TO KNOW

  • On Tuesday, Oct. 14, Kelley Wolf is being released from a mental health treatment center in Utah and entering another one
  • She is currently facing several misdemeanors and has been issued a protective order against her estranged husband, Scott Wolf, and their three kids
  • In early September, Kelley entered a rehabilitation facility for one day before she checked herself out

Kelley Wolf is continuing to get treatment amid legal woes following her divorce from her estranged husband, actor Scott Wolf.

PEOPLE exclusively confirms Kelley has been transferred from a Utah-based mental health hospital to another rehab and mental health facility in the area on Oct. 14, which also happens to be her 49th birthday. She will continue treatment for six weeks.

The Real World: New Orleans alum’s transfer follows a court-ordered minimum 60-day involuntary psychiatric hold issued in late September, according to multiple sources. She will serve the remainder of that hold at the new facility.

Multiple sources revealed that the hold was mandated by a judge in mental health court on Friday, Sept. 26, after an interview and examination, and includes a requirement for Kelley to remain on prescribed medication during her stay. Sources also claimed that Kelley was first admitted to the Utah hospital on Sept. 21, following threats allegedly made toward herself and her estranged husband Scott amid their ongoing and contentious divorce proceedings.

“She is currently being held against her will as she was deemed a danger to herself and others,” a source tells PEOPLE after being admitted last month. ” Right now, [it’s important] to stabilize her mood with medication. But she is okay.”

On Sept. 30, Kelley was due to appear in court regarding several misdemeanor charges she’s facing, but PEOPLE confirmed that she did not show up. Per the judge, the mom of three was “unable to attend” the hearing because she was undergoing treatment at the original facility.

At the time, Prosecutor Wendy Crossland told the judge she “believes” Kelley is at a treatment center but noted, “I have not otherwise had any other contact with Miss Wolf.”

The judge said that the court will “reset these matters with notice” to Kelley.

Weeks prior, Kelley entered another rehabilitation center in Arizona before checking herself out one day later, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE. She initially informed a district court judge of her plans to go to a treatment facility during a Sept. 2 court appearance and said she was “looking forward to it.”

On Aug. 26, Kelley was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors — one count of electronic communications harassment and two counts of electronic disclosure of personal identifying information — following days of apparent confrontational social media posts allegedly doxxing her friends and family members. One post included Scott’s personal phone number with others, including communication with her and Scott’s three children.

On Aug. 28, she was issued a protective order, which stated she could not have any direct or indirect contact with Scott, 57, or the couple’s three children — sons Jackson, 16, and Miller, 12, and daughter Lucy, 11. She was also ordered to remain at least 300 feet away from Scott.

Kelley was later charged with another misdemeanor for violating that order on Aug. 30, after Scott accused her of contacting him “using a friend’s phone and attempting to contact her son [Miller] through a friend’s son,” per a Statement of Probable Cause. She is only allowed to contact Scott during mediation sessions scheduled with a “Court Qualified Mediator” regarding their divorce or custody.

Kelley told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement at the time that she was “utterly shocked [for] the unabating aggressive use of a legal system and possibly more.”

“[It] has become almost intolerable to my physical body, my family’s health and well-being period,” she continued. “I’m unclear as to how these things are allowed to be processed. I have [allegedly] been compliant with everything legal, I have said nothing disparaging about anyone at any time. I’d like to also state for anyone who doesn’t seem to understand — that divorce can take time. Anyone who continues to put pressure on a mother when all she’s doing is fighting for her children is somebody who needs to check themselves.”

Kelley previously appeared in court on Sept. 10 and was without legal representation, a source told PEOPLE at the time. Because she did not have legal counsel present, the judge would not rule on any matters, despite requests from Scott’s lawyers for a full restraining order to be established.

The judge did, however, uphold parts of the Aug. 28 protective order stating that she cannot have any direct or indirect contact with her kids. The judge further allowed Kelley and Scott to communicate with each other via phone, saying that is what’s best for their kids, per a source. Neither party is required to answer the other’s communication, especially if issues arise.

Their next divorce hearing will be on Oct. 23, and the judge told Kelley she needs to retain a lawyer before that date. An additional source told PEOPLE that the judge ordered that Scott is responsible for a portion of Kelley’s attorney fees. It remains unclear whether she will attend the upcoming court hearing virtually, as she is currently in the new treatment facility.

Kelley has also received a summons to appear in court on Nov. 7 regarding her latest arrest.
